New York City Marathon

The New York City Marathon is an annual marathon race in New York City, New York, USA. The official name is TCS New York City Marathon. Approximately 54,000 athletes participate in the 42.195 km marathon and satellite races (53,637 runners finished the marathon in 2019).

The New York City Marathon is a member of the Abbott World Marathon Majors league, one of the six prestigious starts in the series along with marathons in Boston (Boston Marathon), London (Virgin Money London Marathon), Berlin (BMW Berlin Marathon), Chicago (Bank of America Chicago Marathon) and Tokyo (東京ラソン, Tokyo Marathon). Finishers of 5 or 6 of these marathons can find their names on the series website in the Hall of Fame.

The New York City Marathon has a World Athletics Elite Platinum Label Race from the International Association of Athletics Federations.

The New York Marathon 2021 is the qualifying marathon for the Abbott WMM Wanda World Age Group Championships.

There were 117,709 entries for the New York Marathon 2019 lottery, entitling you to pay the registration fee and participate in the race, and 10,510 athletes won the lottery.

42.195K Marathon Run (TCS New York City Marathon)

The 42.195 km Marathon Run will begin from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm in five waves on November 7, 2021 (Sunday) from the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, Staten Island, toward Brooklyn.

Participants must be at least 18 years old on the date of the race.
Abbott Dash to the Finish Line 5K

The 5K Run starts at 8:45 a.m. on November 6, 2021 (Saturday) in Manhattan from First Avenue, the intersection of East 44th Street and East 47th Street.

Participants’ ages: 8 years old or older on the date of the race.

Registration fee: 55 $.

New York City Marathon Course

The route of the New York City Marathon (TCS New York City Marathon) 2021 is laid out on the streets and parks of the largest U.S. city, passing through all five boros of New York: Staten Island (Staten Island), Brooklyn (Brooklyn), Queens (Queens), the Bronx (Bronx), Manhattan (Manhattan).

The route crosses the Narrows over the longest suspension bridge in the U.S., the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, and the Newtown Creek Canal over the Pulaski Bridge, East River across the Queensboro Bridge and the Harlem River across the Willis Avenue Bridge and the Madison Avenue Bridge.

The route is marked every 1 mile and every 5 kilometers.

The TCS New York City Marathon 2021 starts at the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge from Fort Wadsworth, Staten Island toward Brooklyn.

The starting area is at Fort Wadsworth, divided into 3 starting villages: blue, orange and green.

All our routes are well known to us, and instructors who work on them, either laid the track themselves, or are constantly improving it, adding something new and interesting. We try to compose a route so that the trip would be as accessible as possible to all lovers of active recreation in the mountains, regardless of their physical fitness or income. Geography offered by us hiking, trekking, expeditions, climbs and active tours is very wide and constantly growing. Now our club organizes active recreation in 40 countries on five continents.
